Ours was a Classical Case of Democratic Decency, Speaker Onofiok Luke Congratulates Atiku, PDP

As patriotic Nigerians and true democrats across the country and the world continue to celebrate the historic outcome of the just concluded PDP presidential primaries in Port Harcourt,

I join voice with them to congratulate His Excellency the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on a victory well deserved.

That he emerged victorious from that well organized, transparent, free and fair primaries clearly bespeaks of his character and serves as an open testimony to the trust and confidence which Nigerians in general and the leadership and members of the People Democratic Party in particular, have in his vision and in his capacity to lead this great country to where she rightly ought to be.

The primaries itself which was a classical case of democratic decency by true democrats has set a standard in the history of the country and henceforth shall remain a paragon to other political parties and politicians.

Because the process of his emergence to fly the ever strong and accommodating umbrella of the PDP in the 2019 general elections was very thorough to the envy and admiration of all, the choice of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar could never be a mistake. It is indeed a reward for his invalueable steadfastness, sacrifices, entrepreneurial acumen and patriotism in the collective cause of Nigeria, emancipation and empowerment of the youth, and sustainable Democracy.

Let me use this medium to assure His Excellency of our prayers, commitments and solidarity to all that shall be done to see him and the our great party in Aso Rock come 2019.

Once again, Congratulations to His Excellency.

Rt. Hon. Barr Onofiok Luke

Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly
